Just wrapped on the adrenaline-pumping thriller Ride directed by the talented Jacopo Rondinelli. What an exhilarating experience it’s been, bringing this intense story to life against the breathtaking backdrop of Trentino, Italy.
In Ride we follow Kyle and Max, two daredevil extreme sports athletes who are constantly pushing their limits in search of their next big payday. When they receive a mysterious invitation from an enigmatic organization called Black Babylon, offering a whopping $150,000 prize, they can’t resist the temptation. Little do they know, they’re about to embark on a contest that’s far more sinister and deadly than they could have ever imagined.
I had the incredible opportunity to portray the film’s antagonist, Henry Owl. Diving into this complex and menacing character was both challenging and thrilling. Henry is the mastermind behind Black Babylon, orchestrating a twisted game that pushes our protagonists to their absolute limits.
What sets Ride apart is its innovative filming technique. Rondinelli and his team used up to 20 GoPro cameras simultaneously, creating a visceral, almost video game-like experience for the viewers. The frenzied perspectives and relentless score blur the lines between cinema and interactive media, promising an intense ride for the audience.
Filming took place in some of the most stunning locations in Trentino. We shot heart-stopping downhill sequences on the snow-covered Cima Rosetta and the Pale di San Martino Plateau. The bike parks of Altopiano della Paganella provided the perfect backdrop for our characters’ acrobatic feats. One of the most memorable scenes was filmed in the eerie tunnels of Fort Pozzacchio, adding an extra layer of tension to the already nail-biting story.
Ride is not just a movie; it’s an experience that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. Trust me, this is one thrilling journey you won’t want to miss!
