What???
I’ve been nominated for a Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Non-Resident Production?
No way.
Really?
Cool!!!
It’s true. I’ve been nominated for playing the role of, well, Me in the Reduced Shakespeare Company’s The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts earlier this year. I’m up against some tough comepetition from real actors who do real Shakespeare. But those other guys did just one role in one show. We did all 37 of Shakespeare’s plays in 97 minutes. Come on. That deserves a trophy! But I won’t start writing my acceptance speech just yet.
